Newbold Services: A Diversity-Centered Organization
In 2006, with over 20 years of executive-level experience in the banking and financial services industry, Erwin Carter sought a corporate partner that could provide the back office systems to support a new minority-owned, diversity-based janitorial and facility maintenance company called Newbold Services. That partner became IH Services (Gatekeeper is a wholly-owned subsidiary of IH Services), a Greenville, SC-based Janitorial and Support Services Company that had established a legacy of excellence of 50+ years and possessed the industry experience, financial strength, and support systems that would allow Newbold to forgo many of that obstacles facing most new minority-owned startups.
As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Newbold Services provides the opportunity for organizations seeking Janitorial and Facility Maintenance contract partners to benefit from the Return on Investment (ROI) gained through participation in these Supplier Diversity Programs. Many large institutions across a broad spectrum of industries, such as manufacturing, distribution, power generation, and health care, have become our clients, taking advantage of all the benefits that Diversity Spend can deliver.
Today, Newbold Services, IH Services, and Gatekeeper combine for over $63 million in annual revenue, employ over 2,400 associates, and are ranked in the top 1% of all 75,000 registered Building Service Contractors (BSCs) in the U.S.
